As a deeply involved community member, I meet incredibly bright, mission-driven people every day. These conversations often inspire new ideas, open doors, and offer guidance that doesn’t come from a screen. My goal is to share this discourse and guidance widely, because I believe democratizing knowledge is the most effective way to multiply it. I have received so much from the people around me, and establishing Gather is my way of giving back to our vibrant community.

About the Speaker

Dr. Shalini S. Gopalkrishnan is an internationally recognized academician, AI strategist, and management consultant with over two decades of cross-sectoral expertise spanning academia, entrepreneurship, public-private partnerships, and digital innovation. She holds a Doctorate in Business Administration from the University of Florida and an MBA from the prestigious Indian Institute of Management Calcutta.

A trailblazer in leveraging artificial intelligence for educational transformation, Dr. Gopalkrishnan has pioneered frameworks for AI agent integration in academic settings, launched AI-enabled master’s programs, and delivered talks globally on the democratization of AI. She serves on dissertation committees, instructs across top-tier institutions including Stanford CE, UC Berkeley Haas, and Middlebury, and has trained senior leadership in Fortune 500 companies on strategy, digital transformation, and analytics.

Dr. Gopalkrishnan’s entrepreneurial ventures include founding Freelancemoms.com, a platform empowering women through economic participation, and Introspect, a data analytics firm. She has consulted for global powerhouses such as Deloitte (AF Ferguson), Dun & Bradstreet, the World Bank, and USAID, driving data-driven strategy, digital readiness, and market expansion.

With a deep portfolio of over 100 data analytics projects, her work spans cloud ERP, branding analytics, psychological contracts, and ESG metrics. She has published widely in esteemed journals and conferences (AOM, EMS, Triple Helix, Frontiers in Communication), and co-authored impactful chapters on generative AI, innovation communication, and digital humans.

An award-winning educator, she has designed and taught courses across business, technology, data science, and social innovation — from Metaverse education and Web3 to structural equation modeling and social entrepreneurship. Her pedagogical style combines real-world relevance, experimental learning, and high-impact storytelling.

Committed to community empowerment and ethical leadership, Dr. Gopalkrishnan volunteers with Statistics Without Borders and serves as a judge and mentor for UC Berkeley’s Big Ideas and MIT hackathons. Her mission is to advance global equity through transformative education, human-centric AI, and inclusive innovation.
