Filling Your Cup: Why Movement Is My Non-Negotiable for Business & Life
May is a special month for me. It is when we celebrate both National Physical Fitness and Sports Month and Mental Health Awareness Month, and for good reason! This dual celebration truly resonates with my own journey, especially as a founder and a mom.
Our bodies and minds are deeply connected. I have lived it.
My journey with physical activity began early with dance. But after life's big transitions, motherhood, and diving headfirst into entrepreneurial pursuits, I found myself facing a personal rock bottom. Rediscovering my identity post-kids and recalibrating for the intense marathon of parenting and building a business left me feeling completely drained, emotionally and physically.
Then came the Peloton bike. A pandemic-era decision, it quietly turned out to be life-changing. Movement brought back more than just physical strength; it brought clarity, energy, and mental resilience. It prepared me for the long endurance legs and the speedy, power-packed intervals – both in my personal life and in the professional world.
Now, over four years into this journey, my days can start without coffee, but never without movement. It's become my essential, non-negotiable ritual. This month, I quietly crossed personal milestones across cycling, yoga, and running. But the real win? I consistently kept my cup full.
At Elevate With Twisha - Blossom, when I coach my clients, we delve deep into this exact topic: What truly fills your cup? As ambitious professionals, leaders, and founders, we often pour ourselves entirely into caring for our teams, our businesses, and our families. But if we don't intentionally replenish, there will simply be nothing left to draw from.
This isn't just about hitting the gym; it's about finding your unique source of energy, clarity, and strength. It's about building sustainable habits that empower you to show up as your best self, ready for any challenge.
